Between the Heart of Alabama and Hot Springs NC
I adorn my own pipes with gemstones and metals, but I'm a jeweler. It's a great conversation starter for me, and it gives me something to contemplate while I smoke. If you don't have a passion for gemstones, turquoise, opals, dinosaur bone, etc... you're not going to appreciate it on your pipe. But, I have done adornments for other lapidary enthusiasts, especially after the radio show interview. They seemed to come out of the woodwork after that, ha ha.

But, for a pipemaker to do it and offer it on the open market is a bit much. The pipe market is narrow, and adding precious materials narrows the market even more. Most men prefer there to no metals on the pipe, just briar and vulcanite.

I don't think that I do it for the envy of pipe guys. Most of my compliments come from people that I encounter while I am out smoking in public, restaurants, fairs, local concerts, etc... I like to talk about my hobby, and it draws in people that may not know much about the hobby. I sold two silver drip banded bullies to people who don't even smoke.

I've got more, but I can't seem to find the pictures, ha ha. Anyways, if you don't like adorned pipes, that's fine with me. Everyone is different. I am just making the argument that it can be cool to some of us, apparently.

And, I am not begging for more work to do. I have more orders for wedding bands at the moment than I have time. However, if someone should want a band, I think my prices are way more fair than the one listed above.

However, I have a spigot that I am making out of a mokugame for a pipe that I commissioned from a local pipe maker here in Alabama. But, I have to wait till wedding ring season is over.
Anyways, to each his own :puffy:

The example Walt posted of the Fukushima Fish appears to use stones very tastefully to my eye.

Pull the trigger! It's only $52,900.00 8O
Last time I checked it was only $14,000?!
I think "Mike Messer" is just the name for a piece of performance art. For which, search for the smelly ebonite thread.
