And so the tradition of political posts continues...

Censorship exists and has many facets. Some fact based and some...not so much.

EDIT: It depends on what you, the viewer/parent see as acceptable in the specific circumstances what should be for your own kid. Potter Stewart anyone?

The idea that keeping sexually explicit material away from prepubescent children, or prohibiting children from attending "drag shows" has anything to do with "censorship" is ludicrous and laughable in the extreme.

It has absolutely nothing to do with censorship...it's about sanity vs insanity...good vs evil. Censorship is an adult issue, not about sexualizing children.

And sadly, this sickening problem has gone way beyond the issue brought up here, to the point of hormone treatments and sex change operations being performed on children. How is it even possible for that to be legal?

This is all just pure evil...plain and simple.

I'm a civil libertarian. I couldn't care less what any adult wants to do...JUST LEAVE THE CHILDREN ALONE and let them have a childhood.

History is never kind to those who burn/ban books. I'd rather tell my kid to not get a certain book because I find it personally offensive than to have a library ban it. But some want to push their religion, politics, and everything else on the rest of us. No thanks.

The thing is, if you call out these folk that promote this guff, as did the parent in the article, you are made out to be in the one who is at fault.

My underline.

"Mr Taylor claimed the pre-school "tried to defend the images" when he first raised concerns.

He said: "They called me offensive for even raising the issue. I was having none of that because there's nothing offensive about raising a safeguarding concern.

He said: "They did not use the word 'bigot'. But from their use of the word 'offensive' and their constant focus on the rest of the book, which was about celebration of Pride, they seemed to be heavily implying I was some kind of transphobe or homophobe."

Hats off to Mr. Taylor for making a stand.

Regards,

Jay.

It's tough to touch this subject without veering into the political, so I'll just say that there's even more division over who gets to draw the line than there is over where the line is drawn. In this case the heart of the debate is parents vs school personnel.
Jguss, always the voice of reason.
Time to put a bow on this one.

I will add, that Judas Priest got me thru the disco years... (and I'm still a fan)

And "Genesis Pre-School" - blame Phil Collins for this mess.
