I’ve been using this stuff for years on all kinds of things. Less than 5$/bottle at Walgreens. I like to use it for sanding stems.
Equate (Walgreens) is food grade, too.
Doesn't clean. I scrub my vulcanite stems with a scrubbing sponge and hot water. After drying, there will be a variety of grayness to the stems, due to the composition of the vulcanite. A very light coating rubbed in is what I do. They look great. For a much higher gloss buffing with a wheel and carnauba is generally required.
