I like that one a lot. Ive got one of the canvas roll up carriers. It's never been off our property though, it's just for home use.
That may sound odd but we have a farm, a cabin, a few ponds, and several camping and hunting areas around the property. The roll up has never left the property, but has lots of miles.

Love old things that show the individual’s tendencies, loved and worn patina cannot be replaced. I have my fathers saddle which I keep clean but I can’t bring myself to getting it re-flocked as it’s worn just to the shape of him and his horse. I can see how he held the horse, where he gathered the reins and how he held them and how and where he put pressure on the horse. I can close my eyes and see him on it and that’s priceless. So not all old things should be relegated or binned as they are a snapshot of you.

The old one looks great, as does the new one. I'd definitely keep the old one though, "just in case." I tend to fall on the side of @VDL_Piper in that I love the unique way some objects age and tell a story about the owners. Old violins can easily be used for hundreds of years and even the humble ones that are still in use tell a lot to those interested. To family members, personal effects like your old pouch are even more interesting if they show signs of a long life of honest use. I treasure my dad's old daily tobacco pouch all the more for its wear and tear. Keep that old one, it might be held in loving esteem by a future family pipe smoker or maybe just a sentimental descendent.

Edit: I'm pretty sure the pouch pictured above was from the late 1930s or early '40s.
