Pouch Tobacco

Hitting the wilderness soon for a couple of days and I want to keep things simple with a Cob pipe and Pouch tobacco. I've only had Captain Black original and I wanted to know what pouch tobacco you would recommend?

Feels silly asking this since I feel I have some great tobacco in hand. Let me know and thank you in advance.

Hahaha! I knew that was coming. That makes all the sense in the world. My thought process is this, I rather take cheaper pipe tobacco with me and not care if I finish the bowl, lose it or whatever else could happen.

If you have any plugs, those are meant to be tossed and carried around as little bricks.

That's one of the brands I keep seeing around. Well, the non aromatic version.

It’s a pouch but maybe not what you’re after - St Bruno Ready Rubbed. Great stuff.

I am quite partial to Sail Yellow. It's a good camping hiking blend. You can smoke it all day and it's pretty mellow but tasty.

in fact am going to smoke some tonight. Loaded the bowl for this afternoon but the wind was just too much to even bother with smoking. Like trying not to get knocked over too much wind.

Yeah, in all seriousness just bring a bit of what you like. That makes the most sense. If you’re looking for pouches don’t forget that Amphora is on sale still at SP. Look at Drexel too which is dirt cheap but gets good reviews.

Amphora Kentucky or Burley. I would just load a tobacco pouch or baggie of something you already have on hand.

Sometimes I just use an old square/rectangular tin for on the go, the lid will stay on if you bend the top edges inward.

I second Amphora Burley and SWR Aromatic, and might add Mixture No. 79 if you can do that, John Bull and Erin Go Braugh from PC, and Five Brothers, if you like any of those. And a half ounce each of a few of those premium tobaccos you're afraid to let out of the house; live it up.

Amphora burley if you’re bringing coffee, Amphora Kentucky if you’re bringing bourbon, or Amphora Virginia if you’re bringing a friend.

Never tried Amphora but I have a couple of Amphora pipes that were my father-in-law’s. Thinking of getting some just to smoke in them.
