@mc: Casings and toppings are generally regarded as trade secrets, and only divulged by manufacturers when they are required by law to do so. In the US, there are no labeling or disclosure requirements for pipe tobacco, so we really don't know for certain what is in any given blend, aside from whatever descriptive may be in their sales and marketing info.
Denmark, on the other hand, does have disclosure regulations, but only for domestically produced tobacco (as far as I can tell). Domestic production, however, encompasses most of the STG brands.

I recently started using a Peterson roll-up. I've been surprised and appreciative at how well it keeps my tobacco. Maybe you could buy a pouch and then put it into a roll-up. I've had tobacco in it for up to a week without incident.

Good advice i was just wondering this when i seen the thread. I got a pouch of half and half today that i cant smoke every day gives me just enough bight to be tolerable.

I like latakia blends and Captain Black from time to time. I just open a pouch and put it in a small Mason jar. When ready to smoke it, I let enough to fill my selected pipe dry for an hour, pack on the loose side, and enjoy the smoke. :puffy:
