If you're on walks, the wind most likely has greater effect on the pot than the stack... making it burn up faster.Title edited for caps and clarity.
Do pots smoke faster than stacks (assuming same chamber volume and rate of puffing)?
Thnx
Mike
From the little I've seen online, they are all given the same iteration of pipe...I've never been to a slow smoking contest but I've read about some pipe clubs hosting them. Now I wonder if the majority of folks entering smoke stacks? Without firsthand or anecdotal data, I'm guessing pipe people smoke all kinds of pipes-- and I also wonder if most "winners" smoke stacks (disclaimer - I know of no such upcoming contests and am not planning on finding one to enter ). Just pondering since i got done mowing the yard. I also guess that the joy and camaraderie experienced at them actually makes everyone a winner! I feel like a winner every time I pack a bowl and light up, personally.
Hadn't thought of that-thnx. You gotta be right! And my wind screen from SP is too small for my Castello 55 Por and justbfalls in when I've tried it LOLIf you're on walks, the wind most likely has greater effect on the pot than the stack... making it burn up faster.
I'm almost always outdoors and the wind is nearly always a factor I must consider.Hadn't thought of that-thnx. You gotta be right! And my wind screen from SP is too small for my Castello 55 Por and justbfalls in when I've tried it LOL
No choice. They hand you an unsmoked pipe that looks the same as the other 50. But we know they don't all smoke the same. Differences, I am guessing aren't more than 1% due mostly to changes in briar.I've never been to a slow smoking contest but I've read about some pipe clubs hosting them. In a slow smoke contest, all contestants are furnished the "exact" same pipe.
I'm not the biggest fan of pots, but that's a great looking pipe. I really like Musico pipes and have been eager to get another - hopefully soon. There's a lovat I've had my eye on.I've always been drawn to the tall and narrow as opposed to the shallow and wide.
Of course, I don't smoke English blends and those are typically associated with Pots and wide bowls.
Still, I do enjoy some complex blends with dark fired and various orientals. I've been searching for a Pot that fits my desired measurements for almost a year - and I finally found it and ordered it this week. Finally a Pot I can enjoy!
