Dogs & Rhodesians.
I've got 2 Rhodesians, and 2 Bulldogs. Bothe shapes are the same, just the proportions. Don't smoke any better/worse than anything else I own.
They're quite a masculine shape I guess. Even a buddy of mine who has absolutely no interest in pipes really admires my Rhodesians and can't resist the urge to feel them in hand.

My preference order is as follows:
  1. Rhodesian
  2. Bulldog
  3. Pot
The reason is twofold on my preference of rhody/bulldog over pot. First, I have not been a fan of how pots smoke with that wide chamber. Second, I prefer the looks of slightly. The odd thing is that the looks factor into it a lot less than the smoking characteristics. I really want to like the pot shape but not very many of them have smoked well for me.

I appreciate all three. Currently no 1/4 bent Rhodesian in the stable---I'll have to remedy that.
There is something about a 1/4 bent Rhodesian that wants to come along in my pocket when I walk the dog.
My Bulldog bespeaks of youthful vigor---vigor I seem to have misplaced---The shape is a venerated relic of my college days.
My Pots have long been favorites----they hold a lot of tobacco and are perfect for relaxing in the evening, Since the punitive State tobacco tax kicked in my generous Pots have taken a back seat to my 3 adequate Apples (all Petersons) which give me more bowls per ounce---I think they call it downsizing,

I like the whole connotation of bulldogs and Rhodesians—British, masculine, traditional. Pots don't have that vibe. Funny thing is I sold all my dogs but one. I guess that means I'm getting more secure. ?

Pots for me. A good pot makes for an excellent smoker but you can say that about a lot of different shapes. All down to personal preference at the end of the day.
Don't forget the Bullcap though! A sort of low slung pot with the added Rhodesian / Bulldog vibe going on.

The very shape which has been very popular in the past and is almost non-existent today
