I find that odd. I have never read that thread and would never read it. I am sure I'm not the only one. If you have a new pipe or a major tobacco purchase, then start a new thread with a good title that tells me what the thread is about. That I would read. I am not sifting through a thread with umpteen pages to see what's new in it. Just my view.
Have to agree with you on that one peck. I believe I've posted on that that never ending ad nauseam thread ("what are you smoking") just a few times out of sheer boredom until I finally realized that it’s all pretty much useless and quite boring information. Come to think of it; even though I posted a few times on that thread I’ve not yet once bothered to read what one is smoking on a particular day or hour. For all practical purposes it has become nothing more than background noise to me and something I no longer bother to look at. Also, as some others have pointed out, it can become a thread for those that simply wish to ratchet up their post count (the need for doing so is something I've never understood). I’d personally much rather read, and am drawn to individual posts about some particular tobacco that may perhaps pique someone’s interest and read their input on it rather than the countless ‘Twitter’ like posts of what one is doing/smoking on an hourly basis. But hey... whatever floats your boat.

I'm not singling anyone out, I think it just makes a forum more fluid when you have specific threads for specific things. Like if you're posting a review then great, post a review, it's more the threads where it's like hey, I'm smoking a bowl of carter hall, and that's it. If you're going to do a review of carter hall, however short, it's at least a review and then other people can come in and state their opinions. They're already cracking down on this stuff on reddit to make it less congested. It's standard posting etiquette basically on the internet. But there's too many threads started that could easily go into an existing thread. Kevin and the mods here are quite tolerant really about this stuff.

Uh oh, this thing is growing legs...
Puffy, I have never once seen a post from you that seemed rude, disrespectful, or plain tasteless. I have a bad habit of dropping inappropriate jokes here and there myself, so maybe I am just hard to offend. To date, I don't think I have ever received a reply from you that was anytbing short of relevant and helpful. Keep at it.

For clarity, if you look at my post above it was just in response to the What's In the Mail Thread NOT the What Are You Smoking Thread. The latter is fine from my perspective for those who like that - I agree we wouldn't want someone starting a new thread every time they started a new bowl. However, TAD and Pad seem a bit different to me qualitatively and I just wouldn't read or post to a single thread devoted to the entire forum membership's TAD Or PAD events.

Keep posting, Puffy.
FYI, I have trained many people at work. When I show them how to use the notes function in our program, I usually say, "Never put anything into notes that you would not want to explain to a judge." Recently I had an opportunity to do that. There was a lawsuit between buyer and seller and my bank was pulled into the dispute. I had to explain what happened in the transaction a year ago. DO YOU SWEAR TO TELL THE TRUTH, THE WHOLE TRUTH, AND NOTHING BUT THE TRUTH? Yes, I do. It was certainly a good thing that no one put into notes that the buyer was a bonehead.
Therefore, I alway consider every word that I use when I make posts and try to express myself, share wisdom, etc without offending others.
