Nice, I like the Darkness and Hope album a lot. It's not really a metal album, but it's still good. My old band Brother Von Doom was constantly compared to the Darkest Hour sound. But I'd have loved to joined a serious metal band.
My one & only atm, Epi Les Paul. I have been a bassist since I was 15 playing in a half dozen local bands in the Denver area. Bout 4 years ago I decided to give the guitar a try and haven't looked back. I can be heard in the basement shreddin out old black metal riffs. Planting the seed for the kids.
If there are any black metal drummers here, we may have a band. I have SSD4 and EZDrummer if needed. (Plus blastbeat midi files... )
EDIT- "Balkan Metal"
That's funny. My first bass was a Peavey Patriot. The only tone options were crap and muddy crap. Peavy also had the brillian idea of putting the input jack on the pick guard. Consequently, I broke 2 pick guards by stepping on the cord.
I bought the fender for 30 bucks. I think the case alone was worth that. All the parts on it are actually fender parts. Most are mexican strat parts. I think that the only squire part is the neck.
I have a used Squier Telecaster I paid $99 for. Didn't change any parts, just a cleaning and a full setup, and it's my go-to twang guitar.
Sometimes guitars are like Charlie Brown's Christmas tree, they just need a little love is all...
