Seriously,

damn man!
What a supreme score!
You're one of the more savvy and astute buyers on the forum and always seem to find the hidden gems for such the fair prices --- I've enjoyed reading your tutorials with the wise tips and advice for buying on ebay, as well as sharing your techniques for scoring the sought-after baccies.
So glad you're back here in full swing,

the forums are poorer without you being active on them.
You're one of the few who's got the balls to tell it like it is and I greatly respect that.
I always read your posts with keen interest!

:puffy:
Congrats on the fine score!

mlc, thank you for the kind words.
peck, I looked that stem over pretty well and to my eye, it looks like it should be pretty comfy.
Bradley, I will be very surprised if that pipe is not a great smoker.

I finished my first bowl in the new Parks and it was fantastic. I picked a tobacco( Capstan Blue Flake) that I know very well, and know how it should taste and I was really exctited at how the pipe performed. It smoked dry as a bone, the stem was very comfortable and it smoked as cool as any pipe in my collection. This piece of briar is outstanding and I am extremely happy with my first Parks experience. Now I know why peck has such a man boy crush on Parks, his pipes smoke out of this world. Definitely as good as my Rad's and other No American artisan pipes.

I'm happy for you, Harris.
You snagged a sleeper. It doesn't happen often but the pipe gods smiled.
Good on ya'.

Birdseye on the brim and a snazzy Cumberland stem, and a namely artisan pipe for mid-grade Savenelli price, what's not to like. The step-down transition, just theme and variation, a way to make the pipe unique. You can like it or not, but it's not a cheap patch job. Good job. You knew a good thing and put in your bid. Way to play.

Thanks for the nice comments guys, it is appreciated.
Fnord, I hear you about the pipe Gods, they certainly were in my favor when I bid on this puppy. I never in a million years thought I would get my first Parks for this short a price tag. I can see why people might have passed for big money( the stem to shank transition is kind of weird looking) but for smoking properties I have never got a better smoker for this kind of price.
