Hey guys, after Mr.Brog introduced himself to the forum, I got into some East European pipes. And something suddenly got into my mind; I watched "Nosferatu" the movie on Halloween, and realized that one of the characters was smoking this gargantuan pipe. I noticed that he was smoking a porcelain pipe. Do you guys have any experience with those?

I had one in my collection, smoked it a few times but never again, it got really hot and the tobacco just didn't taste right, It was a double skinned type and the stem pushes in to a rubber grommet that is seated in the shank. I used the stem on another pipe and bined it.

BB (Before Briar) Porcelain was the Choice for high dollar pipes in Europe.

The usually have a very long stem. ( check out my avatar with 140 year old Austrian pipe.)

Yes, the bowl and the wind cover get hot.

Most of them smoke pretty good but they tend to fall apart if you are not careful.
