Does the flat bottom on the pipe allow you to set the pipe down while smoking? Also, what are the general impressions of this pipe for those that own it?
Thanks

Well, mine won't sit with the stem attached, so it goes into a pipe rest if I sit it down while smoking... I love mine, and after a few bowls through it, it has already started to color.. Enjoy yours in good health..

Stumbled into this post and am glad.. I have an SMS that has done me alright for some time, but I have been becoming more and more a fan of Storient's pipes since I found them... hearing the praise here, I may have to inaugurate another bout of PAD before the end of the month with a pretty new Meer

I am still waiting for mine but I do love the shape. I also bought the silver military mount apple and hope that it smokes as well as the people who already have the PM 2012 cherrywood say their pipe does. After the good baron's review, I am certain it will. I might even order some Black House to inaugurate it!

Thanks for the help fellas. I would love for it to be a sitter, but a least it is easily propped up. I need to get me a pipe, as well as some of that Black House to try. I love the pipe. I plan on getting one soon!

Damn, one more thing. Do the meers smoke drier than a brand new briar? I've been relentlessly trying to break in my new briar (about 20 smokes in) and it smokes very wet. I have tried about 6 different blends thus far. Some wetter than others. I am just starting to see the formation of cake. Of course I am new and understand that there are a lot of variables that may also cause a wet smoke, but I have been very mindful of how I pack and cadence. Just wondering how much is the pipe and how much is the noob behind AND if a mere is a little more forgiving.
Sry for the loooong question.

Mine came today!!! Unfortunately, I had to view it by Skype since I am out on the rig. 10 days until I get to smoke it! But it is more awesome than I imagined it would be. :puffy:

I own several meers to include my PM2012, my older non storient meers sometimes gurgle due to the blend I'm smoking, however I have not had this problem with my PM2012. I think it is related to the diameter of the air passageway being larger than my older meers, and a different tenon system. A meer is porous, and will absorb some of the moisture anyway.... You may also want to dry your baccy out on a paper towel a bit before smoking for 30 minutes to an hour depending on the blend....Hope this helps fireman..

Still waiting on mine and it's KILLING me. I'm still fairly new to pipe smoking and have only in the last few months really started to perfect my packing and smoking technique to avoid a wet smoke in my briars. I've never smoked a meer but I'll let you know what I think of the differences in a meer vs briar smoke when I get mine.

Been wanting one for some time now. All I hear is good from those who own a Storient pipe.

Ordered mine last night*. Had a couple of questions about the stems before I pulled the trigger, but I gotta say Yavuz is a true Gent & looked after me pretty damned well!
