Epilog: That plumber, Mike texted me that he wanted to come by and install some insulation tubing on the copper. When he arrived, I realized that he mainly wanted to smoke with me and make sure I was happy with the new water heater. Turns out that he's really gotten into smoking the pipe, since I gave him that old briar. He and his business partner/mentor, Keith ordered pipes Morgan Bones pipes and he showed it off to me. After some ribbing, old Keith expressed interest in smoking a briar and told Mike that his grandad smoked a pipe.
Mike asked me to recommend some blends and said he liked the home stoved 515-rc1 I shared with him. I gave him a list that included Wilke's Lizzie's blood and Stockeby's LNF and Victorian Match. He said Keith might stop by as well to talk to me about pipes and Tobaccos. When Keith showed up, he is a gruff old guy, A master of his craft- plumbing. He approved of the water heater work and puffed his briar like a steam shovel.
As they were passing out the door, they both shook my hand and thanked me for introducing pipe smoking to them. So now there is two more of us out there, happily smoking their pipes. Btw, I encouraged them to join this forum. Who knows, maybe they will sign in one day.
