I still fail to see why people who are "offended" have to go out of their way to get what they feel they should have. If they don't like Starbucks cups, find another place to buy coffee, it's not like there aren't any other places to go.

One time my brain literally fell out of my head.
Replaced the latch on my skull. Took care of it. Then drank from my same old stainless steel Hamilton Beach cup, having left my good Starbuck's one in a client's truck.
Damn it.

Sigh....a good history lesson or two is all I really want to give these people for Christmas. Christmas belonged to pagans and was called The Winter Solstice long before American Evangelicals highjacked it for rallying their base.
Can't we all just let each other live and let live? :(

Reniaeats, actually Christmas wasn't highjacked by the Strawman of the High Minded Atheist, it was actually the Catholic Church that developed the idea of Christmas. Blending many pagan and christian symbols together. Very effective macgick indeed.

Where's the Festivus themed cup?
Also I want one with Buddha and the Dalai Lama on it.

But 12pups,
Is it a Christian stainless steel Hamilton Beach cup?
It's getting too close to the holiday season to be caught drinking out of a heathen cup!!!

I prefer my cup with a Square and A compass. But each to their own. Starbucks can put whatever the hell they want on their cups, last time I checked we still have rights to private property in this country.

I consider myself a fairly devout Roman Catholic Christian, but Christmas has never been a central holiday for me. The cultural traditions are nice and I'd like to see those preserved. If you have a cup company and would like to have my business please do put some Christmas symbols on them. If you would rather sell cups to those who are offended by them, or put off or just don't care about Christmas (a growing majority these days) then just produce a boring red and green cup. I won't be offended.
On a side note, I have noticed that Christianity is coming under fire over the years. It's become worse with social media. The rantings of people who care themselves atheists are far more numerous on my facebook feed than anything that could be considered Christian related. In fact, I can't recall any of the latter. It often smacks of bigotry. Here's one from today:
The churches are at odds with an education. It amazes me to see how much they distort people's thoughts and knowledge. Lucky for them they can hide behind the 1'st Amendment while they lie to the people who feed them.
No attempt to say which church it is so one is left to think all churches engage in this. You could substitute any group of people for "churches". Bottom line is, there is a lot of hate being spread out there.

Only had Starbucks twice as both times there were no other options for caffeine. I can't justify buying a cup of coffee or other non-adult beverage for the price for one ounce of good quality bulk tobacco. Much better return on investment with the tobacco.

Oh good grief. Let's be clear: I am a Christian. I preach Christ, and Him crucified and risen. I am save by Grace alone, through Faith alone, in Christ alone.
Clear enough where I stand?
Because, with that as preface, let me also say:
I could not possibly care any less than I do about what stupid color Starbucks' cups are.
I suggest that those getting peeved about this take ALL the energy you planned to put into the issue of cup color for over-roasted, over-priced coffee, and turn it here instead:
Operation Christmas Child
You can make the box any color you wish, you'll have the chance to spread the Gospel and build the kingdom, you will make a child really happy, you will honor Christmas -- and you won't look like a doofus.

1. We should be more upset they outlawed smoking...the only reason to go to a bucks (unless i'm given a gift card) is the comfy seats...well I haven't gone since they told me I can't smoke outside

2. This is probably a marketing scheme :) get those who think all Christians are idiots to buy more coffee...Hate sells product for sure

I think most people are gravely missing the point. The point is that a large audience wants its products to reflect its values, customs and traditions.
Not what color the cup is.

There was a parody back in the 60's of Christmas commercialism that had a line we wish you a merry Christmas and please buy our beer. Shel

I don't understand.
If you're saying Christians want their coffee cup to reflect their religious beliefs then shouldn't they look elsewhere for a coffee cup that expresses their Christian beliefs?

They can bring a magic marker with them and write whatever they would like on the cup. Easy enough.

Or just put pressure on the manufacturer to deliver a product they want.
