One of the estate pipes I have has a small pin hole in the stem. Looks like the owner before me wanted a carb for some odd reason. Heres what I need I can get a replacement stem but it will need turned to fit if any of you pipe makers here can do this for me let me know. Thanks

I have the same problem with one of my favorite pipes, except I did it myself on accident with a bristled pipe cleaner.
I know I could do a temporary home fix with some electrical tape ... actually been considering that.
But your best option is sending it out for a new stem. Tim West at jhlowe.com is highly acclaimed, but there's plenty of others.

Epoxy or even a drop of super glue? Wouldn't a shop do a fill on it rather than turning a whole new stem? Curious how it turns out. Post pics.

well the pipe maker doent make pipes any more just sells parts for pipe makers and still makes stems in this style. turn around is what I was worried about all the places I looked were 6 weeks or longer.

Got a pic of the pin-hole?
Maybe if someone sees it they can recommend a do-it-yourself?

I've had pretty good luck using Super Glue to fill toothmarks and even patch a rather big hole in one stem. Something you might consider if your seller doesn't come through. Here's a post about the big hole here--

Finally got around to looking at that Norwood's Pipe repair site ... they sell some very nice looking briars at very reasonable prices. Tempted yet again.

Just a update: The seller did make it right with me the best he could the stem was of a different style and was turned. In verifying the fact it was a Hildebrand as it would be rare as Paul Hildebrand did not make and sell many pipes as it was a hobby seen the pics and was not happy with the job and asked me to send him the pipe and he made the proper stem and sent it back and refused payment. This is a really nice guy first class all the way.
