I recently attained this Rusticated Dr. Grabow Viscount, with a beeeeg chonk torn out of it. Originally I was intending to fill the offending section with briar dust and cyano acrylates.
Then I removed the mouthpiece. It was stuck at first and I thought someone had glued it in. THEN it finally twisted loose and I was met by a lot of white dust.
It seems someone tried to use Plaster of Paris to repair it once. It might have even filled the missing section. I want to know how to remove the plaster from the threads, and what the best thing to fill this gap with would be. Would would glue be better? It can be stronger than the wood it's attached to, BUT this isn't anywhere near the bowl or heat sources.
