Looks like you have it! I was informed by the guy who gave them to me, that they are indeed tobacco plants but from a mixture of Oriental tobacco seeds, and his intention was to have me harvest them and try smoking them probably because I favour oriental mixes. Now what do I do? I had seen pictures of tobacco plants before, but these didn't quite fit the bill!

Sharp eyes! :col:
As the bottom leaves turn a yellow color, let as much of the green fade from them as possible, then pull them and hang them where they will get good circulation, preferable where its also warm to dry. Then shred them and smoke them.

They’ll be a tad harsh. You really won’t get very much off of just that many. But, you can try setting them back for a year or two to mellow out some. Then smoke them.

It’s all really very easy. Enjoy. Looks like some pretty plants you have there.

If you don’t get much taste, or you can’t detect a floral note from smoking them, then plant the next batch in some sandy soil mixed with some poor soil. Hit them with just a little nitrogen early on, not much, just enough to get the leafs to going, then just water when dry.

Tobacco get more fragrant when grown in very poor soils.

I have decided, for the time being, to let these plants grow rather than harvest them. The Lord knows my house needs some beauty, and they are indeed beautiful.

So I watered and fed the plants, and lo and behold, they grew like crazy and blossomed. So to prevent them from going to seed, at least for now, I picked off the beautiful blossoms, and took a couple of snaps on a hastily chosen black, and then white, background of whatever detritus was available to take the shots. Processed them rather hastily . . . just snaps. The flowers, a bit wilted (they wilted fast), are really quite beautiful and I thought you all might enjoy seeing them.

FYI, I ate a couple of the blossoms and tips . . . . quite bitter but tangy. Not bad at all! :ROFLMAO: Kind of like unsweetened "chew". And thus closes the story of the mystery plants! Thanks for looking in!

Beautiful flowers. Can you plant any of the seeds outside to see if they take ? Just curious. I know you're in a colder climate.
It's greenhouse stuff up here. We're stuck with an average of 85 frost free days in Prince George, and outside the perimeter, where I live, it's about 75. Limits our gardens to just basics which can be covered or protected.

The flowers are tiny - the entire clump is only about an inch in diameter. I used a macro lens.
