I'm extremely pleased, yet completely astonished that an online magazine focused on such an extremely small market - that of pipe smokers - could surpass 10,000 daily unique visitors. Wow.

Just curious how you're measuring.

No. The holidays have no correlation with the stats.
The traffic has constantly grown every month for nearly three years straight with 2 - 3 minor monthly exceptions where we gave back a couple percentage points, but then surpassed the numbers again later.

Daily Unique Visitor - A visitor that comes to your site for the first time in a day. All subsequent visits during the day by the visitor are not considered unique.

Interesting. That means it's probably pipe people instead of pipe people's family looking for gift ideas. (which would make an interesting article - a gift guide.)

Ah but, if 1 person visits 10 times a day is that 10 hits.

Tobakenist - not in the Unique Visitors metric. It sorts by IP address and only logs 1 hit per day. So, for instance, since Shaun and I share an IP address, we only count once. If he gets online at work or from his phone, then we count for 2 visits.
