Okay, I'm being whimsical, but has Dunhill ever sold unfinished pipes, or virgin or natural which are mostly the same thing? I'm not a Dunhill guy, but it would be interesting to smoke an unfinished Dunhill to full natural coloration. Unfinished briar is the briar version of Meerschaum in the coloration department, to me anyway. I suspect Dunhill has never done this because it speaks too much of a "second," which the company has avoided, likely as a compromise of their rather rigorous (scandalous?) price structure.

My absolute dream pipe is Yanik's hatching dragon, and I have that. I like the original of that shape (a Fred Bass estate currently on eBay) a whole lot more than mine, but I'll never be able to sell mine, although it's unsmoked, and then buy that one.
The main thing I'm collecting these days is Kirsten. I never seem to find the ones I'm still looking for at prices I can afford (I saved for a good year to buy the Yanik). I'm still looking for:
-- Any Kirsten in the "Western Satin" finish, a reddish-golden brown metallic.
-- A Lady Kirsten; these were smaller and thinner, brass radiator, with a different design of valve tip, valve and stem black.
-- More cigar holders; they made two sizes, regular and panatela, and at various times, they came in hand-polished aluminum, 24-k gold plate, and antique bronze, a pale finish that could be mistaken for tarnished silver. I already have one, a regular size antique bronze.
-- Cigarette holders, preferably one of each size (three). These came in hand-polished aluminum & 24-k gold plate, antique broke, autumn gold (brass but 'tarnished') and sunset red (same, metallic red with 'tarnish').
Cigarette holders and Western Satin pipes pop up occasionally, but always higher than I can spend at the moment. And I'm still setting aside funds to buy the new finishes: I still don't have a brasstone/bronze model, I'm after the textured 'wrinklepaint' black Stacy has had made recently... but I did manage to grab one of the new hand-polished Designers (and if you want one, call her, because the machinists don't like how finicky they are to make, so when these are gone, they're gone). She's also working on a gray finish; I've seen a prototype (Jewel, I believe) radiator.

I think Werner Mummert makes some fantastic and unique pipes. Maybe 2018 Chicago Pipe Show I will splurge for one of his Bulldogs

When Trevor Talbert's pipe that resembles Alien came up for sale on smokingpipes, I had a chance to buy it. I regret to this day not doing so. The Carver from, is it Albania? That does those amazing carved pipes of things like Cthulhu and a dragon in briar are my next choice, with Mr. Ivarsson rounding out my top 3. Still regret missing out on that Talbot.
