Pipes With Thin Or Narrow Mouthpieces?

For the OP, top is a Castello and bottom is an Eltang. As one can see there is significant difference and I doubt you will get the finesse of a hand finished stem from a factory pipe. Artisans on the other hand spend time working the stem with attention to the button so if a small mouth feel is what the OP is chasing then this is probably were they should look toward. The fellow that makes those uses a curved transition from bit to button instead of the 90° angle that most use. Makes clenching and cleaning that area 100% easier.
