Or would it be a sin not to put tobacco in such a masterwork? Like it would be terrible to never play a Stradivarius? Haha well I'll likely never know.
This one from the same maker also touches me in all the right ways with it's attractive stain and art deco design.

I may be the lone dissenter here, but I actually reall dont care too much for whimsical shaped pipes. I guess this is due to my no-nonsense/working man sort of frame of mind, but I believe that form always follows function. About the most whimiscal shape I ever go for is a Bulldog, Rhodesian, or occasionally a Blowfish.

No way I could own that pipe and not smoke it. Again, I'm attracted to, and want to buy pipes that I want to smoke. If I had the $$ and could shell out $900.00 to $1500.00 for an Eltang or such, it would surely be smoked.

I have the sister to that Ashton. Mine is a bent Rhodesian with a Cumberland stem and it is a wonderful pipe (1998 XX). I see that pipe you posted is already gone, hopefully you pulled the trigger.

Beautiful pipes are why I learned to make pipes. Also why almost all that I make from them goes back into tools or materials.

Okay so I have wanted a Dunhill for awhile now and for some reason I really want the classic Dunhill shape...

Brian Ruthenberg keeps posting his new pipes, gratefully, they sell out quickly....

At $300+, that would be the most expensive pipe I own. I bet my lighter hand would be shaking a bit on that first light...
