Several months ago I posted about 2 pipes I had received from an artist friend as a gift-they were his fathers and he wanted to make sure someone would use them. One was a Dunhill missing a stem, and the other was a 'London Royal' that I believe was manufactured in NY. Both pipes weren't in really bad condition, they just needed full cleaning, polishing, and of course, a new stem.

I sent both off to Walker Pipe Repair for full cleaning, new stem for the Dunhill, and ozone for both.
Here is the result:

The Dunhill stem came out just the way I asked; a fishtail stem. Not being an expert on Dunhill, I would never know that this wasn't an original.
He did a great job on both pipes, although it took a couple of months to do. Well worth the time waiting.

The ozone treatment seals the deal for me.
Both pipes came back smelling like they were just produced at the factory. The ozone treatment is an inexpensive option to go with any repair, and I would heartely recommend it.

Sent them an old Sav Oscar and Chacom that both needed new tenons. Mike called me to tell me the Sav had a cracked stummel and would require a band (best option) or glue (cheaper option). I wasn't sure if it was worth it. He assured me it was and I went with his recommendation. I received the pipes back and was extremely happy. The Sav is top of my rotation. Well worth the wait.

Hey Rothnh that was me. I really like this pipe although it had some problems. The stem was pretty oxidized, but once cleaned proved to be very comfortable.

It seemed to me that the bowl was drilled too deep and I attempted to fix it with pipe mud. That didn't prove successful and I tried fire place mortar on advice, but wasn't happy with that solution as I found it gave the pipe a very off taste.

I smoked the pipe occasionally and finally the mortar plug came out. I cleaned up the bowl, but left it alone again. Tried another pipe mud formula but wasn't nuts about the results so I dug that one out of the bottom of the bowl.

Finally I just started smoking flake out of it and I love it.

So long story short... It smokes well and next time I know to leave well enough alone!

My Digby and Comoy come home from Walkers at the end of the month. I can hardly wait. The stem on the Digby had 3 patches - I knew it when I bought it. I ordered a lucite stem in black/blue. The Comoy just went for ozone.
