pipes form the ukraine

anyone know anything about these? ebay is flooded with them, they dont have a company, it just says that they are made by local artists. i really like some of them so im just wondering if anyone knows anything about them.

I don't know anything about them although I have seen them. I would not bid on them. There is no shortage of great pipes right here in the USA.

I bought one from them just because I was curious. It is made of pear wood and it smokes pretty well. It can give an odd, not bad, but odd taste to tobacco as you break it in. I would buy one because they are not bad for the price, but after that I would save your money for a good briar or meerschaum because in the long run you'll be happier with these.

I bought a pipe from the Ukraine last year and it smokes pretty good. Nice shape. Stem made of Ebonite and I think the wood is pear. The pipe, while a good size, is almost feather light. Upshot...not a bad deal for little money.

I should have a Ukraine Volkano arrive by monday, tuesday at the latest. I bought it from the watson shop. Its from the decor line. Pipe plus shipping $18. Made from pearwood. I have read good reviews and poor reviews about them. So for the price i thought i might as well try one out. Once recieved I will do a review, then after 10 plus bowls (if it is good enough to even get that far) I will do another review.

I lived in ukraine for two years and have two ppes from there, both are great smokers. I know the pipes you are talking about, they dont have inserts, im gonna buy one eventually.
