Haven't had a chance to order from pipes and cigars, I heard they are not doing too good. Has anyone on the forums had any dealings with them of late?......I would like to order from them, I continue to get catalogs and they seem like they have some good deals. Every once and awhile I enjoy a good cigar too. Appreciate the feedback.

Order from them all the time. I haven't had any problems. The parent company has a number of sites, CigarBid, Cigars, Cigars International, etc

I've ordered Pipes, Cigars, Tobacco, and Accessories from them dozens of times in the past several years and have had excellent results.

Great selection, good pricing but after a year of boycotting I gave a try with CI. They were the only vendor I found with Frob Morton ATP and I ordered two 3.5 oz tins. Two weeks later I receive two 1.75 oz tins. Bummer. I called and after 20 minutes of nice hold music an extremely nice young lady refunded the difference because they were backordered. How one backorders a Syrian Lat blend that is out of production I don't know. End story, they were slow to ship, sent the wrong stuff but their customer service was excellent once on the phone. I do have two nice smaller tins though.

I generally never have an issue with them. Just got in 12 ounces of fragrant matured cake that was previously on backorder at an amazing price. No issues here.

Earlier this year PC upgraded their website program, and, as sometimes happens, the program took some work to make it run smoothly as intended. Maybe six months ago, they got things straightened out, and I have processed three orders through them and everything went just right. They have some blends you can't get elsewhere, some great deals on pipes (almost a Stanwell flagship retailer, Big Ben, many others). I think you will have no problems and will be well satisfied with your purchases.

I have noticed a couple of issues with the website shopping cart, however. One of Russ' blends this last weekend caused shipping to jump from $3.99 to $6.99 if more than one ounce was placed in the cart. None of the other blends caused that problem. Some months ago, I received an email "special sale" notice, only to find that the website had the sale prices showing on the item, but the cart populated with the non-sale prices. In both cases, a quick phone call solved all the problems. Since I dabble in website creation, I know how difficult it can be to update many different items in one fell swoop. There's always the chance of missing something. My phone rep was so apologetic, and gave me another item (not on sale) at the sale price. Can't ask for better than that.

Wish they were located in NYC....I'd be there, shopping, every week, but then, prices would be sky high. Ordered tobacco last month. No problems.

I order from them fairly frequently and am a satisfied customer. Had a hiccup with an order one single time, and it was rectified immediately and cheerfully. I am awaiting another order from them even as we speak.

Thanks for the supportive comments. The problems from earlier in the year were software-based, and created a situation where we couldn't even see the orders that were placed, which caused a chain of problems. They have been corrected. Recently, I worked with shipping to upgrade how we pack our shipments and the feedback has been very positive. We're also working on some buyouts so we can offer everyone some incredible deals in time for the holiday season.

Another site I frequent was griping about their customer service within the past 6 months. I think it had to do with P&C allowing people to back order tobacco. A lot of orders were screwed up.
But I think they are back on track. I just order a number of tins from them a couple weeks ago and everything went smooth. Personally, I've never had a problem. But like you, I was a bit hesitant with my last order after reading about people's recent problems with them.
At the end of the day I would tell you to just pull the trigger. Their prices are great and you should get everything with out any issue. They've got some great sales going on now too.

I've made a few orders in the last months. I had 2 hiccups. The first hiccup was I ordered 2 pounds of 965 and 1 pound of nightcap, with each pound you were to get a 3 tin sampler. I got 1 pound of 965 and 1 of NC and 3-3 tin samplers (9 tins). I was missing 1 pound of 965. I made a phone call and got my missing pound.
The other issue is still up in the air. I ordered 2 pounds of EMP with the same 3 tin sampler deal on July 29th. It's backordered....still. I see they have EMP bulk. So I sent a message to customer service this week, they said they are waiting for tobacco from the distributor. My thoughts are, you have bulk in stock, on the site, ship the crap. it's been a month and a half. kind of a joke if you ask me.
All-in-all, I only order from them if they have good deals. If their prices on what I'm looking for are similar to another well known, respected site, I order from them instead. Between their shipping inaccuracy and website snafus, the place is a complete joke.

I have had no problems with them, only the delivery services. Because of my address, I have to use USPS so it is expensive and very sloppy. I just got a box from USPS today, a ball of tape really. Thankfully it only had 2 ounce bags in it and mashing if flat, running over it and taking a month to deliver didn't hurt it.
I had P&C replace an order that the post office lost, no problem at all.
One question though, do back orders that were ordered and paid automatically get shipped when the stuff gets back in stock?

Not gonna happen. Been in similar situation a year ago. "Someone" still promises "to make things right".

I only use them when they have offers I can't refuse, mainly because they often don't have in stock what I'm looking for. But I did take advantage of the last couple of sales, and they seem back to normal. Backordered items have not been charged until they ship, which I think is good practice. Having said that, there are a few tins I don't expect to ever turn up.
