Whatever is going on with them, they don't handle processing and shipping of orders with much crispness or competence currently.

They drop orders due to no stock and do not follow up and let customer know what the hell is going on.....but rather just leave you hanging and force you to call instead.....after things are way over due!

Whoever is in charge should get a handle on this and change it in short order.

I've ordered from P&C many, many times and personally have never had anything less than great service. If that were to change there are lots of other good vendors out there.
The "hate" seems to be the usual case of a small handful jumping at any opportunity to bash a thing from the safety of internet anonymity for no apparent gain apart from an odd enjoyment derived from the activity. Legitimate and constructive criticism takes more work and is an entirely different beast from the "hating". Fortunately it's easy to tell the two apart.
Surprisingly I've not yet seen Godwin's Law come into play on this topic.

Russ is a really stand up guy. One of the pillars of pipedom. Master blender and writer. As long as he's affiliated with P & C, they'll get my business
. I am with you on this one Kashmir! This subject has definitely been beaten to death and I don't think any business is 100% perfect all the time but in my opinion P&C is GREAT! :puffpipe:

I guess spending some time away from the forums gets me run through the wringer. I haven't clicked on here very much in the past several weeks, and it seems like every time I do I read about a thread where Pipes and Cigars is getting bashed for one thing or another. I started this thread to show a little love for pipes and cigars and that the negative press that I have been seeing in my limited experience was undeserved. It's kind of hard to beat a dead horse when you don't know if he's dead or sleeping, so I guess from now on I'll research my topic a little harder first :?

Pipe Novelist: it's not your fault, no worries... :puffy: We don't mind getting you up to date, besides we need something to talk about. LOL.

I made my first order with them this past Wednesday late in the day. I loaded up on Drew Estate tins and 18oz of Bulk Bosun Cut Plug (18oz is cheaper then 16oz with the price break over 16oz) got an email this morning that my order is processing. I'll update when I receive it.
well it's Monday and not a peep from P&C since last week and still no status on the order when checking online. I ordered a Pete from Ireland within an hour of the P&G order and it was already shipped last Friday.

Slownumbers, I thought you lived in Alberta Canada. How can you place orders with P&C?
I have not been on the forums much at all this weekend, hence the delayed response. The wife flies to the US a few times a year and I am able to order and have the shipment sent to an American address where she picks it up and brings it back with her to Canada. I keep it under 200g, in the hopes of keeping on the good side of BSA.
I try to get Fusilier's Ration as I cannot get it from another vendor and it is a favourite of mine. No luck this time, but got some Black House instead.

I ordered a Falcon with a specific bowl shown on their website as in stock. To my disappointment they sent a different bowl. No call or email alerting me of the substitution or requesting my approval. When I called them on it the reply was pretty much, "Tuff Shit". 4noggins and tobaccopipes.com receives all my business now.

That is pretty much what she told me too, but she agreed to do it for me. She will be back late tonight with the package.

Got my 4 tins of Black House :worship: last night.
Very impressed with Pipes & Cigars overall. The only things that rub me the wrong way...... they no longer ship internationally, and I hope that they change that some day soon. They never seem to have Fusilier's Ration available when I want to order.

Fusilier's Ration will be back up shortly. When we started having it made elsewhere, the first batch came in unpressed. That, obviously, is a problem. They have sent out the replacements, which are properly pressed. When they get here and are checked in, it'll be back up on the site.

Russ -- where is it made now? I thought you did everything in-house. Anyhow, thanks for the heads up. Fusilier's Ration is damn near my favorite smoke at the moment but I've been rationing what I have because it seems to be perennially out of stock.
