I thought I would pass this on to you all. Once a week at my house, we have spaghetti for dinner.

My wife has buying that "Classico" sauce lately. I noticed how nice the glass jar was and I cleaned

one up real good and it makes a great jar to store tobacco in!

I just soaked it in hot water and label came off and the metal screw on lid even has a rubber

gasket in it to keep the air out.

I Put it through the dish washer and there was no sign or smell of the sauce left behind.

I filled one up with tobacco and put one of those little metal disks in it for humidity and

there you have it! Free storage jars! Now I have an extra couple bucks I saved on a storage jar

to buy more Tobacco!

They work great don't they? The other jars like Ragu or Prego don't have the Screw on

lids so they won't work out well, but these are perfect.

+1. I love it when we can re-purpose something that would usually end up in a land fill. I comb the Savers and thrift stores circuit every now and then and have found some nice bail top jars with rubber gaskets. Old candy jars with the plastic stoppers work pretty good too. I usually wad a piece of moist paper towel up in the glass dome and they act as handy little humidors out here in the desert, where bulk tobacco can turn crispy very quickly.

Nice trick friend. I'm using jars I bought from Ikea, well sealed and pretty good glass. It is only 2.4$ per each and enough for 9oz of tobacco.

I would like to take this a bit further. I have several old mason jars I like to use with the glass lids and rubber gaskets. My question is do you guys just pour your tobacco in the jar and seal it up or do you keep it in zip lock bags and place that in the jar. In a few jars I have two or three zip lock bags containing differant blends. Is this a bad way to keep it or no?

I had stored 3 different blends" in ziplocs" in a bail top container, forgot about it for 2 years. I opened it up and each blend was still moist and had its own taste traits.

It was in the basement though. Each bag had approx.2 oz
