I personally like Sutliff Private Stock Aromatic very much (the aroma , taste and room note).

Especially the Barbados Plantation (Rum) and Molto Dolce.

Is there any similar tobacco that you guys can recommend?
Thanks

Welcome Kenny... No personal experience with any of those, sorry.
Looks like you're in the aromatics there, so I'll just how out some aro's I like: 1-Q (duh !), AC Peterson Mark Twain, MacBaren Vanilla Cream Loose cut. I popped a tin of Haddo's delight earlier this week, which has a rum, raisin, brandy kinda topping. I'm still undecided on it, but it's nice.
Good luck, the world of tasting tobacco's is a wide one. So sit back, relax and enjoy !

Not Penzance is my recommendation. On a less funny note though, I'd look into some aromatics by Samuel Gawith, or Gawith Higgarth, they make some very very good tobaccos in traditional methods.

The sutliff blends are actually very good tobaccos; I like Barbados Plantation very much, along with Bosphorus Cruise. A really great aromatic tobacco is Blue Note; wonderful room note that tastes like it smells.

Thanks everyone.
For the 1-Q. I know this is a very good tobacco (from tobaccoreviews).

But I have no idea why all bulk tobacco I bought tasted not that great (From pipesandcigars, even Cornell & Diehl).

Here is the problem when asking for advice on what kind of tobacco should I get...its all personal prefrence. Some of the guys on here will swear up and down one perticular blend is better than any other. The truth is if you are new you will have to try everything for your self. So here is what I do.
I called to the different suppliers on here and asked for samples. They guys on here are glad to send you samples also, if they can afford to dig into the stash they have.
When you sample consider several things.

Do I like this to smoke it all the time?

If I store some how will it taste later?

Is the price worth it for my go to every day smoke?

Is this a once in a while smoke? Desert blend, morning blend, going in public blend?

How accessable is it to get this smoke?
Just a few of the important ones.
The rest is up to you...listen to the guys here
I will be honest 1Q is not my favorite pick. But for the price its a good everyday tobacco. It tastes good, not great. People like the smell of it on my clothes and around in public its not a stinky one as my wife says. Plus it mixes good with other tobaccos to make them stretch and to change up the flavor of others...try a pinch sandwiched with 7 Sea Royal, pretty good and it makes it last in my jars longer.

I've recently become convinced that Lane Limited has the best line of aromatics.
I haven't tried much though. I think they're superior to Altadis and Mac Baren aromatics.
I've been puffing Lane 1Q for a couple of months now, and it's great. Mac Baren 7 Seas Royal is similar but not as good to my taste buds.
I just tried Lane BCA this morning, and it's also a very pleasant, mild, slightly sweet smoke.

I prefer 7 Seas Royal over 1Q. 1Q is like going to a pancake house and getting plain pancakes. Good, but spend a little more and you can get pecans, banana, strawberries, blueberries etc in the pancakes.
But everyone has a different opinion. I occasionally enjoy Haunted Bookstore, but others hate it.

Name 100 different aro's and recieve 150 different opinions. It will take you quite awhile to find your groove. Many great suggestions have already been made here so I won't add any. Best advice is to try as many as you can afford and decide what YOU like and can afford. Main thing is to remember, "Never give up, Never surrender" Oh ya, and most importantly, ENJOY

I like what nsfisher has said. I especially like the part where he says, "Enjoy". Because if you're not enjoying it, dump it and smoke something you do. Life is too short to not enjoy what you're smoking. Remember though, you won't know what you like until you try it. Then, if you don't like it, come back to it a few months and see what happens. Blends change and so does your capacity to appreciate them.
For me, I like these aromatic blends even though they bear no resemblance to the ones you listed:

Villiger 1888 Mid Day

W.O. Larsen Signature Vintage Mixture

Rattray's Bagpiper's Dream

Mac Baren 7 Seas Red
Hope this helps.

Thank you very much.

The advice is very very useful for a new pipe smoker like me.
To be honest, most of the brand you guys mentioned are in my "trying list".

The only problem is most of them are tin and I don't have that much to spend in order to try them all....
I do like the Mac Baren 7 Seas Royal, just not as much as the Sutliff.
I totally agree with the fact that "life is too short".

If possible, I want to have more than 200 years to live (health like teenager until I die will be great!!) so that I can try all the things I want to try in the world. LoL
Btw, anyone have the same problem, having trouble with bulk tobacco, like me?

Pipesandcigars is a good site and Cornell & Diehl is a great brand, but the bulk I received is dried and tasted strange....

Both H&H (pipesandcigars.com's brand) and C&D are purposely drier than most so that you can smoke them as soon as you get them. C&D even state so in their literature found HERE.
Hope this helps.

Because if you're not enjoying it, dump it and smoke something you do.
And send me what's left of it!
Since you mentioned that you like Molto Dolce, I would suggest trying 2 Friends English Chocolate, it is not as sweet but has a wonderful taste and smell.

I have 37 blends of baccy mate and only 3 are aro's. I am afraid I like the English a bit much. If you are looking for bulk, your best bet is to get the Hearth and Home Sampler pack from Pipes&cigars. I think it is around $29.00 and you get to choose 6 packs of 1.5 or 2oz each. That is a pretty cheap way of trying and tasting. Make sure you include Larry's Blend as one of them.

Lots of good suggestions on here for you to try. For aromatics I like those from Boswell Pipes and Tobaccos and also those from Pipeworks and Wilke. You can read the descriptions on their websites and decide what you want to try. Recently a kind pipe smoker sent me some Wall Street, an aromatic from Milan Tobaccanists, and I was very impressed with it. Had a great flavor and aroma and was one of the cleanest smoking aromatics I've ever tried, always leaving the bottom of the pipe dry. I plan to try some more of their blends in the future.

I am in Australia and unfortunately we do not have any good pipe tobacco to buy here. But I made my first order with 4noggins and got a tin of Balkan Sasieni and Peterson Connoisseurs Choice, they arrived last week and they are both very nice and I can highly reccomend them. The Balkan has a very smokey smell but is a light and easy smoke, and the Connosseurs choice smells like christmas pudding in the tin but offers a sweet and comforting smoke. Looking forward to making another order already to try some others. I can see this hobby becoming a bit of an obsession for me ;).

I just placed an order with a tin each of Sam Gawith Grousemoor and Mac Baren 7 Seas Regular. I'll let you know what I think of them when I get them this Friday.
