Pipe Tobacco Knives

My buddy’s a bladesmith, who smokes pipes. I wrangled a deal with him to do his take on forging me a 1095 Japanese nakiri for chopping tobak. I gave him the basic blade dimensions I wanted and he did the rest.
I like how it came out…a lot.

No pics, but a carbon Opinel is the only knife I use for tobacco. I can put a scary sharp edge on it, it costs half of nothing to replace if I had to, it has probably the simplest design of any folding knife I've seen, and the looks of it won't scare my children's friends' moms. I swear, they're the Missouri Meerschaum of pocket knives (except French).
