Hello everyone,

I am in the process of upgrading my pipe rotation, which means i will need to figure out what to do about storage. I recently got a 7 pipes stand (pic 1) that does exactly what I need it to do with my medium sized pipes.

Its the larger pipes i have to deal with. I am slowly getting larger pipes, as they are my clear preference. The fit well on the stand you see here with the shoe horn style cups, but I have had very little luck in finding more like the one I have. For the record I got this one for 50 cents at a yard sale.

If any of you have a suggestion, especially a suggestion that will not get me in trouble with the wife, I'l all ears.

There are some China made stands on eBay with scoop holders that work for large pipes. It’s what I use for large system pipes or Peterson SH etc.
If you have a link, please share it. Part of he problem I am having is that I know exactly what I want, but I have no idea what to call it for a search.

The second rest looks like a Ro-el to me. They're great stands & really good for big pipes.

I've picked up five pretty cheap, so that might be worth a search on eBay...?

This is it, thank you. There is nothing reasonably priced at present, but I can check back until there is. Thanks again.

Another fantastic idea. Thanks for posting.
That’s a typical kitchen drawer insert for knives, spoons and forks. You can find anywhere.

Keeps my pipes protected and allows me to see the side of my pipes rather than looking into blackened chambers.

It’s handy because I can remove the insert and take the entire collection to clean.

So I splurged a bit on a handmade pipe-stand from LaCameraHumidors in Spain (sold via Etsy), and it finally arrived. Of cause this is always a bit of a risk, but I am quite happy with the quality and workmanship! Its Solid ebony and imbuia blur wood, space for 9 pipes. Some observations:
  • I am sometimes almost having a bad conscious when ordering work-intense non-mass produced products via Etsy, even if not cheap like this one. The real hourly wages behind this cannot be really up to any standard (In other words: I suspect that often much more work hours go into these items than the price justifies)
  • For this stand: the distance of the depression vs the rest for the stem works best for half bent or fully bent pipes.. not so well for straight pipes. And: pipes with a very wide stem don't fit (no problem though, I have enough "homeless" pipes that fit)..
