Oh, our lovely Hydraulic Press Channel. He is very amusing indeed.
So which materials are new stems made from? All of those?
1 - P.M.M.A. (polymethyl methacrylate) - Acrylic
2 - Polystone - Mixture of crushed stone and polymer
3 - PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) - Remember non-stick pans?
4 - Sustapeek (polyether ether ketone) - A thermoplastic polymer
5 - Sustaglide - A thermoplastic polymer
6 - Etronit 2 - Paper reinforcement
7 - Polyurethane - A polymer
8 - PLA (polylactic acid) -A thermoplastic polyester (polymer)
Now we need someone to explain us which materials are used in stems. Well, we all know about lucite (acrylic), vulcanite, soft plastic stems, but are there any others? I also heard about bakelite stems.
