1 - P.M.M.A. (polymethyl methacrylate) - Acrylic

2 - Polystone - Mixture of crushed stone and polymer

3 - PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) - Remember non-stick pans?

4 - Sustapeek (polyether ether ketone) - A thermoplastic polymer

5 - Sustaglide - A thermoplastic polymer

6 - Etronit 2 - Paper reinforcement

7 - Polyurethane - A polymer

8 - PLA (polylactic acid) -A thermoplastic polyester (polymer)

There are also hard rubber, briar, reed, birch, amber, and ivory. I have a Bakelite stem, similar to amber in its glassy feel.
