Pipe Smokings Biggest Downside..

When you are sipping a bowl of your favourite tobacco, loving every cool and flavourful draw, you tap out the ash as you realise it's getting much, and when you look in the bowl there's nothing left!

And you can't refill up and have another as you have work in an hour.....

Work work ... some have too much of it, some have too little. Honestly, the most aggravating state of affairs for me is that I have days when I don't have the time to smoke a single bowl. I mean, yeah ... I can always squeeze 20-30 minutes for a bowl, but I don't like to rush it. For me pipe smoking is as much about taste as it is about ritual.

cstephen, you're a new member for three years, so welcome back. I'm taking this thread as an invitation to add downsides, not just to comment on the original poster's situation.
I'm not sure about the biggest downside, but one downer is picking out a pleasing pipe from full cabinet and racks, lighting it up and enjoying it, and realizing I haven't smoked it in at least six months. A nice surprise and a discouragement at once. It helps somewhat with PAD -- I go shopping at home.

No downsides identified yet. Hobby, entertainment, collection, utility and functional art--PIPES HELL YES
Bowl is empty and you want more load it back up, no problem there.
Not enough time to smoke in a day, never been that busy ever, smoke while you shit or something.
