Nope, no pipe smoking in Tintin. PipefriendCHS, on Youtube, actually did a video about the lack of pipe smoking.
And he makes a valid point of how they eliminated the Captain's pipe "for the kids", however someone determined it was OK to show

him drunk. Hmmm, where's the logic in that. Alcohol OK, but tobacco ?

Bill 'The Butcher' Cutting in Gangs of New York.

Daniel Plainview in There will be blood.
Both played Daniel Day-Lewis who I adore as an actor.

Sunday TMC ran a filler documentary on the Frankenheimer movie "Grand Prix", one of the best and authentic sports car racing movies of all time. He is shown with a very Italian billiard clenched in his teeth, leaning over a running high-octane racing fuel filled cars. Ah the good old days (Castello?). I ordered the Blu-Ray of this movie and hope it includes this documentary.

As I've said elsewhere, Mr. Blandings builds his dream House is a veritable love-letter to pipesmoking.

I just watched "The Best Years of Our Lives" for maybe the 6th time? "Pops", Homers father is smoking a straight billiard in several scenes. Harold Russell won an Oscar for Best Supporting Actor, his is an interesting true story.

I saw a commercial for the new Cuba Gooding Jr. film "Red Tails" the other night. He was smoking a pipe in the scene!

The man with the Yellow Hat smokes a pipe.

Possible caption: "Now George, if you sleep on the top bunk, I might burn that sh*t down."

Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World (2003) During a respite in the action (Napoleonic War era naval battle) The younger boys of the crew are gathered around a grizzled seaman smoking their clay pipes while the old salt tells his stories. Perfectly normal in 1805 but unusal by today's standards.

Saw a trailer last night on the up coming movie by G. Lucas, "Red Tails". Tuskegee Air men. Showed a actor smoking a pipe. He bravo for him for not being PC.

1955's "Women's Prison" was on TCM last night. Howard Duff plays Dr. Crane and his pipe is usually on screen with him (click the link null above and scroll down for a great still shot!) In one scene, the pipe is very visible and appears to be a Kaywoodie with club symbol on top of the stem. Classic film!

Just watched Gattica Avatar Amistad again, and there's a scene where the Double M and Morgan Freeman are trying to find someone that speaks the slave's language, so they're walking around the Mystic Seaport repeating the numbers in that language, hoping someone will hear them and talk to them, so they can use him as a translator. See, they don't understand the slaves that they're trying to figure out who "rightfully" owns them, so they need someone who can speak their language so they can learn about the slaves' history, and where they were born, and stuff like that. I had forgotten that it's really a courtroom drama...
What were we talking about?
Oh yeah, pipes.
Anyway, in that scene I mentioned above, they walk around the corner of a building and there are a bunch of squids navyboys deckhands sailors smoking their pipes together.
I gotta say, though, finding a pipe smoker in a period film is kind of cheating.

I noticed Mickey Rourke's character in Expendables smoking a churchwarden, also. Several scenes with him and the pipe. Now, who made that pipe? lol.
EDIT: I think it is this one or one very similar

red churchwarden
I just like churchwardens. Waiting on a stem for a cobwarden and thinking of getting a regular churchwarden for a late birthday present to myself.

The 1950 version of King Solomon's Mines has plenty of pipe smoking scenes. Quartermain is often seen carrying his pipe along with a few cartridges in loops on his shirt. Good classic flick. Much easier to find pipe smoking in films of that era, tobacco was still good for you back then.

Hollywood = NWO propaganda ;)
Anyone else notice how the beautiful people in this society seem opposed to anything natural, and desire to replace it with obedience?
Yeah, freaky that.

Smoking galore on a submarine!!
The 1961 film, "Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea"- Walter Pigeon, shows the ships doctor with a pipe in his "office", cigar and cigarette smoking all over, and remember it's a submarine! To add realism, this "sub" has large picture windows, ten foot overheads, and kitchen style cabinets.
