I think that pipes (for me) gives a much larger does of nicotine than cigarettes ever did for me, even without inhaling. But, I used to have problems sleeping before I started smoking the strongest blends just before bed. A slice of rope in a huge bowl or Nightcap in a .9" wide pipe sets me right for a full night's rest. Or, if I don't have time before bed, a strong cigar. I have since stopped taking the meds the doc gave me to help me sleep. And, I awake feeling more rested without headaches from the meds. I had to stop smoking while sleeping though. The wife didn't like all of the holes I was getting in my pillow. ::
