If you are in NYC the 2nd Tuesday of any month, link up with the New York Pipe Club and coordinate with the members. If you know which blends to get, why not get one of the sponsors here to make up an order and ship it to your hotel to hold for you when you arrive? It will be a lot cheaper without NYC and NY state taxes.

OK, we can cut to the quick here, they are few and far between, unfortunately:
Barclay Rex at 126 Pearl Street downtown is the only remaining Barclay Rex shop left in my fair City. Great selection of pipes and pipe tobacco, of course cigars as well. Great place to smoke a bowl, just purchase some tobacco, of course.
Nat Sherman on 42nd also has some pipes and pipe tobacco,and you can enjoy a bowl there as well just do the same as above.
De La Conch is now Davidoff and though I have not been there I am told is fully cigar focused, next...
There is a plethora of cigar lounges throughout the City (Cigar Inn being just one) but smoking your pipe there will be an exercise in negotiation if you are allowed at all.
The New York Pipe Club www.newyorkpipeclub.com meets on the second Tues. of each month at SoHo Cigar Bar (formerly, Circa Tabac) located at 32 Watts Street in SoHo. It's a great place to smoke a bowl, grab a bite and a drink, one of the, if not the only place to do all three.

I'm up the street from De La Concha aka Davidoff and are indeed cigar focused. The only pipe stuff they have left is a handful of Dunhills uh White Spot pipes.
The comment on having some internet orders sent to the hotel is probably the best idea. NY state has a 75% tax on tobacco products.

It would be great to meet with You but for me it will be only few days in Apple and probably the last.
