Yes second the perertti recommendation. Plus they ship all over even international. I’m planning an order myself nice near future. My son will be making a business trip to Boston. Are there any good pipe shops he should visit?
They are actually located in Framingham.Watch City Cigars in Waltham makes some of the best pipe tobacco blends in the world. Ernie Q is a pipe tobacco icon.
We talked about Watch City but he won't have the time to drive that far out of town. Don't know about Cambridge. If he will be in Boston proper, L. J. Peretti is a must for sure.
Leavitt & Peirce might also be worth a visit in Cambridge but I've not been there, so I don't know what to expect, looks interesting from their website though.
If he'll have a car and wants to take a ride out to Framingham, Watch City could be worth a trip. Though the shop is geared more towards cigars, there's quite a bit pipe tobacco and pipe related supplies in the shop. Be forewarned though it's only accessible from the westbound lanes of the road.
Being Massachusetts, they don't sell flavored tobacco so he won't likely be able to pick up any cherry pipe tobacco. Somehow though, many aromatics like Captain Black seem to get a pass.
Oh yeah!!! This too.Watch City Cigars in Waltham makes some of the best pipe tobacco blends in the world. Ernie Q is a pipe tobacco icon.
Leavitt & Peirce is in Harvard Square. Years ago it was a real pipe and tobacco shop. It was associated with David P Ehrlich's famous pipe shop on Tremont st (pronounced both Tree-mont and Tremm-mont by Bostonians). Ehrlich is sadly long gone and L&P is, sadly, a shell of its former self, now selling Lane & Stokkebye bulk blend as well as chess boards and shaving supplies. There are a couple of the old Ehrlich blends also. The last time I was there they did have a big jar of Full Virginia Flake which was great to see. They do sell some pipes and have a case or two of historical material. Worth going to see and the people are very nice. Harvard Square itself was once an incredibly exciting place to be, but, alas, corporate America has homogenized the formerly vibrant place into a less interesting spot.If he will be in Boston proper, L. J. Peretti is a must for sure.
