It depends on whether you smoke wet and leave a lot of dottle or you're a dry smoker leaving mainly ash

If you smoke wet, then despite the advice "you can smoke multiple bowls for a whole month......" you will be left with a sour pipe.
When I started smoking pipes years ago as an impoverished undergraduate I could afford just the one pipe and smoked mainly goopy aromatics.
You can guess the results.

I learnt that having a few pipes and letting them rest and dry out completely before smoking them again made a HUGE difference to my enjoyment.

If you are a dry smoker, there shouldn't be a problem smoking several bowls end-to-end in the same pipe
