Pipe Racks - Like Hot dogs and Hot dog buns!

Why are pipe racks in 1,2,4,6,10,12, etc... everything but 7?

If we seek to have a 7 day rotation of pipes, 1 for each day of the week, why wouldnt 7-pipe racks be easily available?
Its like hotdogs which are sold in packs of 10, but the buns come in packs of 8!
I finally found a 7-pipe rack but it took days of searching until someone posted it on ebay.
Just a rant... a mystery of life...

thoughts? Am I the only one who wants a 7-day rack for a 7 day rotation of pies? Is it just my OCD?

I believe it's the racks manufacturer giving you an excuse for PAD!

A quick search for "7 pipe rack" on ebay resulted in almost 2 dozen hits. And then there's etsy. And online retailers. And custom pipe makers like 2 Cousins and Ken Lamb...
I don't think you're looking very hard.

I couldn't really find any new 7-pipe racks.
When I searched on eBay yes you do find some, but no straight racks.

Most of the racks are curved and don't fit we'll in a shelf where the curve hides the end pipes.

Also the straight racks tend to have holes instead of cuts for the stems.
So yah, 7 pipe racks are available but not so much new except on ebay, and usually of odd or slightly less practical designs.
I want to go to the same shop I buy my tobacco and pipes, in person or online!
But yes, PAD is definitely suspect!!!

My dad used to have a round rack with a tobacco jar in the middle. I think it held 7 pipes.

I wish I had it now.

Wife bought a nice 12 holder yesterday at an old antique store, pipes have gotten larger over the years, will only hold 6 comfortably, but it's the thought that counts. The old cajun

As far as hot dogs and buns go, Trader Joe's has an awesome combo of hot dogs that are flavored with a few spices and whole grain buns that each come in four packs. This is yet another sign that the world will end in 19 days lol.
Now that you mention it I haven't seen too many seven pipe racks in my travels through the pipe world. Like you said the most common are the one, two, three, six, tweleve, twenty four etc.
