Whether or not you were referring to Pipe Forum participation or not, I think we can all agree, if we're honest, that we've wasted some time in our lives--on the computer and on other stuff. Despite the current cultural "wisdom" on the topic, I think it's good to have regrets.
To honestly examine our lives and be able to admit where we've made mistakes and where we hope we can do better is a wise way to go about it, rather than glossing over everything with the pat "Everything I've done has brought me here, so I don't regret a thing." I think that sounded good in an acceptance speech or on a greeting card one time, and a lot of people, including myself, have fallen into the trap of an unexamined life; never learning or intentionally changing or making anything better--just drifting.
I have drifted for loooooong periods of my life and it rarely gets me anywhere I want to be.
Smoking a pipe, and introducing the art to others, and discussing the minutiae of it with you fine fellows helps me meditate, pray, and keep a good perspective on life. So thanks guys.
