The Event is at the Pipe Rack in Akron (at 2200 Manchester Rd, Akron, OH 44314), they did this around this time last year and it was an absolute blast!

This is what they posted:

I know I'll be in attendance and I imagine there's a few of us here from Northeast Ohio, just thought I'd give the heads up!

I am meeting a buddy of mine (a well-known Ohio pipe maker) for a bite to eat around 4:30 pm Tuesday before going over to The Pipe Rack. We are eating at a classic tavern/steakhouse called The Diamond Grille, only 10 minutes away from the pipe shop. The Diamond opened in 1935 and I believe it is Akron’s oldest restaurant. I’ve eaten there before and it is a classic place. Message me if you would like to join us.

The Akron event at The Pipe Rack was a huge success with about 60-75 attendee throughout the night. A lot of 30-something attendees were buying their first Savinelli and Peterson pipes from the Laudisi rep. I picked up 6 tins, including two from the Warped series which are really tasty. The bottom photo is of Tim Beaumont of Papa Bear Pipes (on left) and me enjoying the large smoking lounge. Although Tim only lives an hour away, it was his first visit there and he said he’s going back next week!

One last thing to report. About 5 minutes before we arrived at The Diamond restaurant (that I posted above), a motorist went off the road and struck the front door of the building. I’m not sure how badly the driver was injured, but the employees said it shook the building but no one inside was injured. They opened the back door and business went on as usual.

Yeah it was a rousing success I'd say! I also didn't realize it at the time but I was also sitting and chatting with Mike and Tim while enjoying my new tins. It's a shame they only do this once a year.

I am glad it was a success. Any time you can meet up with some folks and share a bowl is a good time, but this looks like a great time. It was about 10 hours away from me, so it was too far.
