This thread looks to have taken on some, um... energy.

First off, I want to point out the I did NOT refer to anything as a "mystery"... that was a thread title edit by a mod. I merely said that there was something interesting about the pipe that'd I'd reveal after seeing what you lot thought of it.

The reason being I didn't want your impression affected BY the interesting info bit, confirmation bias-style.

Because the pipe was made by a beginner.

It was among his first dozen or so, shortly after stepping up to a lathe from a couple pre-drilled blocks.
