Greetings
I need some tips on a pipe modification I wanna do. the smoking pipe that I have included in the pictures down below is one that I made myself. Also special thanks to the Catholic piper for his suggestion on adding a acrylic stem to my homade pipe. Anyways I have salvaged this plastic stem from a cheap old pipe I found laying around (I have also included the pictures of it below). I don't smoke this pipe as I'm not sure which wood it is and the wood probably won't hold up as good as bruyere wood. So I just have it as a shelf peice but I don't really like how the wooden stem and I wanna make it look better so as I said before before special thanks the Catholic puffer who suggested that I put a acrylic stem on. and after a some time of thinking I figured it'll look better. But to do this I need to cut part of the wooden stem and fit the stem I have never done this before so if someone has experience doing that please reply. Also the stem has this awful smell from really old tar and when I suck on the stem I can taste it in my mouth and it tastes awful to I have tried to remove the smell with bleach and dish washing soap but the smell is still strong so if you have any suggestions to remove it please reply.
