Pipe making?

So I've always been the type to try making anything I use often. Anyone know of any guides for the noob would-be pipe maker/carver?

you can go here http://www.pimopipecraft.com/prebored.html and get tools and literature, stains and so on. I did one with a predrilled piece of briar. It was easy and enjoyable. You might want to do one like that first and then try drilling your own on the second run. I don't have a lathe or drill press so I"d be reluctant to do my own drilling.
