Hey folks. Picked this up from a retired gentleman whose dad was into pipes. Tried to take a pic of the only lettering on it, and cant make out what it is. Any help is appreciated.
Also, is that white collar part of the pipe, or did the stem snap off? It came from the guy w/o stem. Thanks
Makes total sense now that you mention it. I know theres a few Israeli pipe makers. Could this be from one of them, or is that where the briar came from?
The only two pipe makers that I am familiar with from Israel, are Alpha Pipes and Shalom Pipes, it could be either.
It does resemble some of their bowl shapes.
Israel, it's from the long closed Shalom factory, the only pipe making factory Israel had, they made the early Alpha pipes among others. Not uncommon for pieces to leave thd floor simply be marked "Israel", I've had a few.
As I am from Israel, I have tried to research a bit about the Shalom factory in the past. As far as I understand the factory has imported the briar it used. There are not many briars plants in Israel, definitely not enough to harvest.
