Hi all!
I've been in this hobby for two years, smoking roughly two tothree pipes per week. Looking to get a new pipe of a higher grade than my existing Peterson Donegal Rocky 107.

However, I am looking for a pipe that would both not have a smaller tobacco chamber than the Peterson (21mm by 40mm) and be easier to clench. The Peterson just falls out of my mouth!

I also prefer straight pipes to bent ones. My other pipe is a MM Tom Sawyer that's an incredibly easy clencher, although the chamber is embarassingly small.

Would a Lovat serve me well? What would your advice be, fellow pipe smokers?

Many thanks in advance.

Edit: clarity

Anything bent to a noticable degree would work but I've clenched straight pipes and slightly curved sav ks authors no issues. Depends on the physicality of your muscles and how well you use the lips not necessarily the teeth.
Thanks for the prompt reply! Would you say the shape of the pipe doesn't matter as long as much as the curve does?

Lovat ? Luv-it !!!
I would definitely recommend one. Or several
I bought my first, then ended up with a 7 day set within a short time 😁

All nosewarmers work well
You can do worse than looking at @Korney’s pipe collection.
Now that’s someone who has worked out what he likes in a pipe

Check out some Castello KK’s, Radice Chubby’s, Peterson Bents Like an XL315 or a Savinelli 320KS
I've always wondered: does KK refer to the size, or to the grading?
What's your reasoning for recommending the Radice Chubby over Radice pipes more generally?

The bowl shape to me doesn't play a part unless it's totally something outlandish. Typical bowl shapes work well. The degree of bend will make it more or less land on your chin. I'd guess a 60 to 90 degree bend give or take.

Even nosewarmers with the standard fishtail bit on them? I would expect Lovats to be easier clenches overall, would that be correct?

Will take a look at @KORNEY also

One the one end of the spectrum an Oom Paul

The other end of the spectrum

Anything in between will work. When you get more along in your pipe experience you'll be able to clench a straight pipe.

The bits should not make a difference - you DON’T BITE down on the bit when clenching.

Any straight pipe under 4 1/2 inches work well
As do fully bent pipes - which should hang comfortably

Group 5 or 6 Dunhill? I clench my group 3's; I'm not sure if the weight of their larger bowled offerings would be problematic, but it sounds as if you need to start with chamber dimensions and work backwards.
