@didimauw, Ghosts is a great way to put it. I always see a Dante's Inferno, lost souls in bird's eye grain. I'm not exactly partial to spooky stuff like that but including this grain on this pipe was a must
You can be very proud of it, I'm hunting for something very similar for 1-2 years without success. The maker doesn't really matters (just not to be French) but it needs to be sandblasted and lumberman. Maybe one day.
What a great collection you have! They’re all both interesting and individual. The Piersel is striking. I get a kick from #13, as I own one very similar to it that was carved by Paul Tatum. I call it my yo-yo pipe. May you enjoy many years of smoking pleasure from these great pipes! Well done!
Jesse, not sure if you waded through all the above banter but comments you made in 2017 lead me to look into Scottie Piersel's unique vision and she fit in every way imaginable for the project I was looking to commission. She too kept me informed through the process. Here is a fun photo as the pipe takes shape. I get odd feelings of affinity looking at this pipe in this state.
Perhaps one day I will post a full story on the commission of #14 Scottie Piersel's beautiful piece. I think many would be interested. It's PINK to commemorate a friend of mine's breast cancer journey.
@newportpipe, that #3 Ferndown Bulldog is secretly my favorite. There are likely finer and certainly more valuable pipes here but this one is just perfect to me which is what I believe truly matters in the end.
