FWIW I just got some Vauen bristle cleaners. They feel just a tad more fluffy than White Elephant but its a bit close to call. The wire is good in both. They were on sale and I think Id replace them with which ever is on sale when I buy. Both are good.

I do like the Vaue smooth ones for the stems. They have good wire and they dont leave a mess behind.

The Vauen Blue and white is prettier than the Kopp gray and white :)

I have four bundles of Mantello cleaners (176 total) on autoship from Amazon every other month, have been thinking of switching that to a monthly shipment as I usually use 3-4 per pipe session (two to three bowls on average per day). I also go through a roll of paper towels each month, wiping out the bowl and end of the tenon after every smoke.

I use BJ Long churchwarden-length cleaners for my MM Elf Cobbit, but my other pipes are well-served with just the standard-length cleaners. I have a bag of bristle cleaners but use them very very infrequently.

Since I smoke a filter pipe I have no need to use a cleaner during a smoke. When I disassemble I use bristle cleaners on the shank and a soft cleaner on the stem. A soft cleaner lasts until it gets compressed. Even then its not all that dirty.

I got a couple more packs of Falcon thin with an order this week - they fit everything, whereas tapers have problems with my Falcon (obvs) but also my Petersons, so they fell from favour. Fortunately, the Falcon cleaners are easy to get online in the UK - I used to use Swan OTC ones which were also thin, but they've gone forever now, annoyingly.

I wish Falcon cleaners were available in the USA. I tried to find them a few months ago and came up empty. The one vendor I found with them listed in stock actually substituted a pack of Dill’s on my order, with a note that they were just as thin. No, no they are not. I was very disappointed.
