Pipe Cleaned With Whiskey

I looked at my pipe and thought, why should you get the good stuff?

I tried to get some Everclear, but the liquor store did not have any... Would cheap vodka wok? I don't want my pipe to taste like nail-polish remover.
Until now, I have used just a little woodford Reserve, but I would like something higher proof (Woodford is about 90 proof).
As I read aabove, Barcardi may be the way to go, I can see a fifth lasting about 5 years or so!
