I picked up this beautiful gem in my local Wonderbook yesterday. Not quite a first edition but still an early one and in pretty good condition, perfectly readable and most of the pages still pressed together as if they'd never been opened. Despite (presumably) receiving it as a Christmas gift in 1894, its owner didn't seem to read it much lol. I've only just peeked into it a bit but I'm enjoying it so far.

According to the Bibliography in Richard Carleton Hacker's "The Ultimate Pipe Book," your book was compiled by Joseph Knight, and published in Boston by The Joseph Knight Company in 1895.

man that poem "preface" is not very poetic at all. Hope the rest of it's a little better at least.
