Recently got a Tim West from pipestud (this post is nothing against him), and noticed a tiny bead of moisture seeping just beneath the Tim West stamp. Turns out there was a miniscule hole in the shank. It did not affect the draw, but it was allowing enough excess air in the shank to cause some significant condensation in the stem. I placed a dot of Elmer's wood glue over the hole, forced it in with my thumb, and wiped away the excess. Let the glue dry, now it smokes like a champ!

It's good that there's nothing coming out of the hole but that condensation is going somewhere. You may want to have a professional pipe repair person look to see if that hole can be plugged from inside the shank.
